Ever the perfectionist, Burmese-born Chinese photographer Ronald N. Tan’s stringent and assiduous work ethics are recognized and acknowledged by his industry peers.
Self-taught and published, August 2009 is his second year in photography.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I started blogging in 2008 to share my personal and professional thoughts in photography and retouching techniques. I have not been in the industry long–August 2009 was my second year in photography. I am grateful to the many talents and professionals whom helped me along the way. Despite my short and accelerated growth, I am experienced and knowledgeable in Advanced Photoshop techniques, e.g. masking, channel blending, color correction, beauty, calculations.

I read the Photoshop Manual cover-to-cover and experimented. I used the internet (RetouchPro.com) to find tutorials and experimented until I found something I like. I was formally trained in Applied Physics and Pre-pharmacy and pursuing my dreams of being a photographer. I am highly ambitious, assiduous with my professional and work ethics. I want to encourage anyone that is thinking of “Chasing Dreams” to scintillate the Nike’s “Just Do It!” attitude.

My coming out back in January 30, 2006 gave me the courage, strength, and confidence to follow my heart leaving academia a closed chapter in my life. My photographer friend, Jonathan Waiter (whom I met on MySpace in 2006 and shook hands in 2007) encouraged me.

I moved to Los Angeles on 19th May, 2007. I got represented in Los Angeles and Paris, France with Artists Representatives in August 2009. With my newly represented artist status, I moved back home to try the San Francisco area. If you have any questions  or comments, please message me via the contact info.
