Danny for Personal Project – Additional Photographs

Personal Project has been helping me improve direction at eliciting erotic undertones. My mainstream work with agencies on my website, www.ronaldntan.com, is considered tame compared to the images from Personal Project.

I know Personal Project is in its infancy, but I am hoping it would evolve into a photographic anthology recording my progress and comfort levels.

Introducing Danny for Personal Project

I found Danny on ModelMayhem.com and he agreed to contribute to Personal Project. Teaser pics to follow.

I’ve Been Pushing Myself….[Sukh for Personal Project]

Sukh is pronounced “Sook.”

I am continuing my regal and classy studies of male nudes and my friend Sukh whom I met in July 2008 stopped by today and helped me. I feel that when shooting nudes–TRUST must be established and earned.

I’ve been pushing myself towards the borderline for art’s sake and these images were produced in good taste and class.

Prototype images.

If you’re an ethnic male model with multi-ethnicities and would like to further assist me with the Personal Project, please follow the instructions on my website: http://www.ronaldntan.com/

When Sukh arrived, I had chai ready. Before he left, I made him a Burmese Papaya shake–his first time and he enjoyed it. :-)

Hasan Ali–Alumnus of UC Berkeley Pre-Dental and My Third East-Indian (Pakistani) Male Model

On Friday, I got to add Hasan as my third East-Indian (Pakistani) male model. :-)

Hasan is a recent alumnus of the University of California, Berkeley Pre-dental program. He wants to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Hasan has this “surfer dude” attitude and personality–which was funny and made me smile. He would use words like, “Awesome” or “Man!” or “Dude.” He is an all around great guy and I was glad to meet him and add him as my 3rd East-Indian (Pakistani) male model.

John Kenney @ LA Models in Gap Holiday Ad & Neiman Marcus

Congratulations to John Kenney for appearing in the recent GAP Holiday advertisement. I was happy because John was one of the professional male models I’ve met when I was in Los Angeles and he’s a great gentleman and well-mannered. I don’t throw around compliments.

When good people work really hard, they deserve to be successful. I AM VERY HAPPY FOR YOU! :-)

Reminiscing Calle

I was “introduced” to Mr. Calle Eriksson at one of the studio parties hosted by Mr. Brooks Ayola, one of my “unofficial mentors” whom I feel proud and privileged to know. Calle was part of the entourage of my photographer friend, Mr. Kurt Brown. I met the wonderful Mr. Gregory Prescott that evening. These are the photographers that I’ve engaged brief email conversations via ModelMayhem. It was a joy to finally associate their faces and shaking their hands.

Brooks invited me so that I could exercise my social skills. Everyone knows that I take on my leading and directive “photographer personality” behind camera, but when I am not behind my instrument, I am shy as a mouse. I sat next to Calle and did not say anything. I was hoping that Kurt would introduce Calle to me since that’s the protocol I was accustomed to–when you are the guest with company to a group event, normally you introduce your guests to other guests.

After I got home that evening and a few days later, I wrote to Gregory asking about Calle. I also wrote to Kurt and asked his consent if I could ask Calle to model for me. I enjoy being polite, respectful and proper with everyone.

Finally, I was excited and I asked Calle. I first explained to him that we “met” at Brooks’ studio event and that it would be a great experience if I could capture him. He agreed.

Voila!

One of my favorite models. John Kenney @ LA Models

Prior to my move, John was the last male model in LA I shot. He’s great man engaged to his high school sweet heart, Ms. Sharon Klarman. To the future Mr. and Mrs. Kenney, my heartfelt thanks to you both and I wish you both the best and brightest future as you traverse further in life.

John Kenney @ LA Models

John was the last Los Angeles male model I photographed prior to my relocation. I am so glad to be around family and friends. I figure while my agents in LA and in Paris, France are representing me and my works, this gave me the opportunity to move back up north trying the San Francisco market.

Of course, I’ll fly into LA if I have important shoots or special meetings with clients.
